flight of harmony newsletter – April 2010

Greetings All!

It has been quite some time since the last newsletter, but that’s because there’s been so much going on that I just haven’t had time to get one out.
Firstly, an apology for the slowness of my responses to emails lately. For those that hadn’t yet heard, I recently learned (to my surprise) that I had to move, so I did. But, as the saying goes: “when it rains, it pours” or, as I prefer to say, “a lot of shit just happens all at once, it comes in waves”, so I ended up having to take almost two months off of work, and am now working like mad to get back on schedule. Due to all this, the website has not been updated during this time. I have a hard time sitting at the computer when there are things to be built on the workbench, so the site is low on my list of priorities.
I always try to be as professional as possible, but the simple fact is that this is a one-man show (for now, that is…) and it takes a lot of work. Please bear with me.

NEWS
• A new distributor has joined the fold: Geargas – http://www.geargasstore.com/. They now carry the Barebones Pack versions of f(h) modules! Depending on availability, of course.
• The Sound of Shadows eurorack module is available from Analogue Haven, Schneidersbuero, and Post Modular.
• The Sound of Shadows Barebones Pack (SoSBP) is now available, either direct or from Geargas, $125.00. The SoSBP works on a supply range from ±9V to ±15V and has an MOTM 4-pin power connecter standard, Doepfer-style connecter on request. The SoSBP web page is not up yet, hopefully soon though.
• Two special limited-edition Infernal Noise Machines are available from Big City Music. Each of these has a solid walnut housing, hand-made by George Mattson. I must say they look damn nice!

JOYSTICKS
As some of you have noticed, both the Choices modules and the Infernal Noise Machines are currently in short supply due to a shortage in the supply of joysticks. Now, after several months of waiting, I have finally received a response from the factory, so it is time for another group buy. These are brand-new joysticks, not “New Old Stock”. If you are interested in joining in, please contact me at: [email protected] for more details.

Thank you all very much for your support and patience, I am only able to offer these products because of you!

Cast adrift…

Sorry everyone, but I have no internet for a few days. All will be back on track by the end of this week.

Here’s some good news: the Sound of Shadows Barebones Pack (SoSBP) is almost ready for release. All tests have been passed, I just need to finish the instructions.

The quest…

Found a new place finally, moving begins this week. I’ll be back to work as soon as everything’s moved and is set up. Shouldn’t be more than a week in all.

What’s that smell?

Hello there kiddies!

Well, it looks like the fit has hit the shan and it’s gotten a bit stinky around here, so I have to put things on hold until it clears out.

The store is closed for the nonce, but Analogue Haven, Post Modular, and Schneidersbuero are restocked and happy to help you out with your modular jones.

Service- and warranty-related emails will be answered as quickly as possible, all other inquiries may take some time. For these “other inquiries”, please try the MuffWiggler forums, as there are many great people there who are happy to help when they can.

Fear not, for I shall return.

Sound of Shadows at Analogue Haven

The first shipment of the Sound of Shadows modules has arrived at Analogue Haven.
The AH SoS page is not up yet, but will be soon.

zzzz…

Sorry all, I’ve been pushing myself a bit hard lately and the ol’ meat sack finally demanded a time out  (I had to get some sleep). I’ll get to your emails soon though.

Site issues

My apologies for the numerous dead links. I am currently without a webmaster and have zero knowledge of PHP (and no desire to gain any). Please bear with me.

Manuals!

The manual for the Infernal Noise Machine is finally available, and the preliminary draft manual for the Sound of Shadows module is up.

Apologies for the site problems. Our hosting service decided to migrate everything to a new server and didn’t do the best job of it. The problem appears to have been largely fixed, but some link still give a 500 error.

Sound of Shadows update: The PCBs are on their way from the assembly house at last, so the wait is almost over.
